Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Questions are welcome — and encouraged.
Below are answers to the most common questions families ask before getting started. If you don’t see your question here, we can talk it through during your free consultation.
Is this service eligible for state scholarship or ESA funding?
Many families use Education Savings Accounts (ESAs) or similar state-funded homeschool programs to pay for life skills–based tutoring services.
Arizona: I am an approved vendor through ClassWallet and currently listed under Life Skills / Organization tutoring. Families are encouraged to confirm eligibility with their ESA provider before enrolling.
Florida and other ESA states: Approval requirements vary by state and program. While I may not yet be listed in every state, this service is designed to align with commonly approved life skills and tutoring categories. I’m happy to provide documentation if requested by your scholarship provider.
Because rules can change, I always recommend families seek individual pre-approval when required.
Who is Life Skills Decluttering for Homeschoolers designed for?
This service is designed for homeschooling children and teens who need support learning organization, routines, and decluttering as practical life skills.
It’s especially helpful for children who:
Feel overwhelmed by clutter or disorganization
Struggle with executive functioning, focus, or follow-through
Benefit from step-by-step guidance and encouragement
While many families I work with have children with ADHD, Autism, or other learning differences, a diagnosis is not required.
What if my child feels overwhelmed or moves at a slower pace?
That’s expected — and fully supported.
This is not a race and not a rigid program. We move at your child’s pace, focus on one space or skill at a time, and adjust as needed. Progress looks different for every child, and success is measured by confidence, independence, and sustainability — not speed.
Can an overwhelmed or resistant child succeed with this approach?
Yes. Sessions are designed to be:
Gentle and supportive
Broken into small, manageable steps
Focused on progress, not perfection
We work with your child’s brain, not against it, building trust and confidence along the way.
How is this different from other organizing or decluttering programs?
This isn’t about quick clean-ups or one-size-fits-all systems.
What makes this different:
One-on-one life skills tutoring, not a group course
A flexible Life Skills Decluttering Framework customized to your child
Emphasis on teaching skills, not doing it for them
Support that includes emotional regulation, decision-making, and follow-through
The goal is long-term independence — not temporary results.
How quickly will we see results?
Most families notice improvements quickly — often after the first focused space.
Results may include:
Less overwhelm around belongings
Clearer routines and expectations
Increased confidence and ownership from your child
Over time, these small wins build lasting habits.
I’m worried about being judged over the state of our home.
You’re not alone — and there is zero judgment here.
I approach every family with compassion, respect, and understanding. My role is to support and guide — never to criticize or shame. You and your child deserve encouragement, not pressure.
Do families without special needs children work with you?
Absolutely. While many families I support are neurodivergent homeschoolers, this service is helpful for any homeschooling family wanting to teach organization and decluttering as real-life skills.
I feel overwhelmed. Where do we even start?
We start together.
During your free consultation, we’ll identify:
The space or skill that will bring the most relief
Your child’s learning style and comfort level
A realistic starting point that feels doable
You don’t need to have it figured out before reaching out.
I have more questions. Can we talk before deciding?
Of course. I offer a free Zoom consultation so we can talk through your child’s needs, answer questions, and make sure this support is the right fit.
Are You Ready For Success?
Navigating the decluttering process with your child doesn't have to be a solo effort.
Whether your child is neurodivergent, struggling with overwhelm, or simply learning how to manage their space, support makes all the difference.
Together, we’ll take this one step at a time — creating calm, organized spaces that support your child’s independence, confidence, and daily routines.
Decluttering doesn’t have to feel stressful or overwhelming anymore. With gentle guidance, realistic expectations, and a pace that works for your family, we focus on building life skills that last — not quick fixes.
You don’t have to do this alone.
Your Declutter Coach,
Wendy Zanders
